Applying for things

Writer: Rachel SambrooksRachel Sambrooks

Of course I can't today as I have to drink this cup of tea, then check my emails, do lots of other work, fix the car, paint a fence, rest my arms and generally anything, yes ANYTHING that doesn't involve having to send my stuff out there.

I'm a procrastinator like everyone else, but mine is that particular insidious form of procrasination that is in fact a lack of confidence.

But how can I, someone with a history of stand up comedy, poetry reading and writing pretty much every day for the past 40 years, have a lack of confidence?

Oh, oh but I do. I bet my lack of confidence beats 99% of the people in the country - if there was an Olympics of low self esteem, I'd be getting the bronze because I wouldn't get the gold even in that. I do have a terrible flaw in that area.

Today I entered two things. TWO WHOLE THINGS. That deserves a round of applause.

I will attempt to enter it into my spreadsheet that I've fashioned - but after about 20 years of starting new blogs, deleting the old ones, about 200 spreadsheets that show up from time to time when I dig through my archives, I'm not a methodical type.

It is time to celebrate the small stuff and give that lovely reiki statement a whirl....

Just for today I will not worry.

Just for today I will do my work honestly - and for me that means sending the blooming work out!!

Good luck with your applications for things, whatever they may be. xR
